Refunds, Rain, & Weather

What is the rain policy?

We’re open rain or shine — overcast days often mean shorter lines! However, for the safety of all guests, operation of attractions and pools may be temporarily suspended in the event of heavy rain, electrical storms, or severe weather.

Please review our Rain Check Guarantee for full details on what happens if attractions close for an extended period.

If pools and waterslides are closed due to inclement weather for more than one (1) consecutive hour during your visit, guests who retain their admission ticket or purchase confirmation will receive a complimentary return admission valid during the current operating season.

To receive your rain check, visit Guest Services before exiting the park. Rain checks will not be issued after guests have left the property.

Note: Season Pass holders are not eligible for rain check admissions, as passes include unlimited visits throughout the season.

All ticket and Season Pass purchases are final and non-refundable once the transaction is complete. No cash refunds will be issued. For weather-related closures, please refer to our Rain Check Guarantee.

Safety & Lifeguards

Do you have lifeguards on duty?

Yes — we take safety very seriously. All of our lifeguards are trained and certified by Ellis & Associates (E&A), the industry leader in aquatic safety. Over 150 E&A-trained lifeguards are stationed throughout the park for ride dispatching and guest assistance.

The First Aid Station is staffed by EMTs (Emergency Medical Technicians) and is open during all park operating hours and special events. Please see the park map or ask any team member for the nearest location.

Our lifeguard training provider, Ellis & Associates (E&A), requires staff to practice Vigilance Awareness Training (VAT) as an ongoing educational tool. VAT uses a mannequin to simulate a submerged victim, helping lifeguards stay sharp and reducing average detection time to as little as 10–30 seconds.

If you see a mannequin in or near the water, please do not remove it — this is a standard safety training exercise.

Yes! U.S. Coast Guard-approved life jackets are available to all guests at no charge. They are stocked throughout the park near major attractions and wave pools.

Life jackets are strongly recommended for children under 48 inches tall and for weak or non-swimmers. They are required for guests under 48 inches on certain designated attractions — look for signage at each attraction.

Only USCG-approved life jackets are permitted. Inflatable arm floats, inflatable swim suits, and non-approved flotation devices are not allowed on any ride or in any pool.

All raised grates in the park are marked with a red circle to indicate their location. They are designed to be stepped on; however, in shallow water they may pose a minor tripping hazard — please watch your step.

Park Rules & Guest Conduct

What swimwear is required?

Proper swimwear is required for all rides, slides, and pool areas. The following are prohibited:

  • Street clothes, including cotton t-shirts
  • Cut-off jeans or denim shorts of any kind
  • Swimwear with metal rivets, buckles, grommets, spikes, or belts
  • Thong, G-string, or overly revealing swimwear
  • Sheer or see-through cover-ups worn as swimwear
  • Fins, snorkels, or masks

Water shoes are welcome throughout the park and in pool areas — the pavement can get hot, and we encourage guests to protect their feet. However, water shoes may NOT be worn on certain slides, as they can cause unwanted friction and pose a safety risk. Please follow the guidance of lifeguards and posted signage at each attraction.

For the safety of all guests, personal recording devices — including cell phones, cameras, GoPros, and action cameras — are not permitted on any ride, slide, or attraction. Violations may result in removal from the attraction or ejection from the park without refund.

Children 12 years of age and under must be accompanied by a responsible adult (age 18+) at all times. We strongly recommend that all guests under age 18 be accompanied by a parent or guardian.

Adults may not hold infants or young children while riding any attraction.

The park does not assume responsibility for unattended minors.

Yes. For the health and safety of all guests, children who are not fully toilet-trained must wear a properly fitted swim diaper on all rides, in all pools, and in all aquatic areas. Regular diapers are not an acceptable substitute. Swim diapers are available for purchase in the park Gift Shop.

Smoking, vaping, and use of e-cigarettes or any tobacco product is prohibited throughout the park, including all ride areas, dining areas, restrooms, and Cabanas. Designated smoking areas are available — and may be located outside of the park. Please look for posted signage or ask a team member for the nearest location.

All guests are expected to behave in a safe, family-friendly, and respectful manner. The following conduct is strictly prohibited:

  • Profanity, offensive language, or threatening behavior toward guests or team members
  • Fighting, physical aggression, or intimidating conduct
  • Running, horseplay, or behavior that poses a safety risk to yourself or others
  • Line jumping or saving places in line
  • Possession of weapons, illegal drugs, or drug paraphernalia
  • Damage to or theft of park property

Park management reserves the right to remove any guest whose behavior is deemed unsafe or disruptive, without obligation to issue a refund.

Cashless FAQ

General — Going Cashless

Why is the park now cashless?

We’ve moved to a fully cashless experience to provide a faster, safer, and more convenient visit for every guest. Cashless transactions help reduce wait times, improve efficiency at food and retail locations, and create a more secure environment for both guests and team members — no more carrying wet cash or losing coins in the park!

Yes — all locations throughout the park, including admissions, food, retail, and ride photo stations, operate on a cashless system. Free Cash to Card kiosks are conveniently located throughout the park for guests who arrive with cash.

We accept all major credit and debit cards including Visa, Mastercard, Discover, and American Express, as well as mobile payment methods such as Apple Pay and Google Pay.

Guests who arrive with cash can convert it to a prepaid card at no charge using our Cash to Card kiosks located throughout the park.

Admission tickets and Season Passes are also available for purchase online in advance.

Cash to Card Kiosks

What is a Cash to Card kiosk?

A Cash to Card kiosk works like a reverse ATM — it allows guests to instantly convert cash into a prepaid Mastercard that can be used anywhere in the park and anywhere in the U.S. that accepts Mastercard. The kiosk is free to use, and no change will be given.

Kiosks are located at multiple convenient locations throughout each park. Locations vary by park — look for kiosk signage near the main entrance and Guest Services, or ask any team member for the nearest location.

Park-specific kiosk locations:

  • Raging Waves: Near Guest Services (before park entry) and near the main plaza, left of the Gift Shop
  • Wet ‘n Wild Emerald Pointe: Main entrance near Guest Relations, outside Shore Thing Gift Shop, and next to the ticketing kiosk outside the park
  • Raging Waters LA: Main Gate, Upper Pavilion, and Turtle’s Landing
  • Big Kahuna’s: Inside the retail shop and outside the main entrance
  • Shipwreck Island: Main entrance and inside Island Traders Gift Shop

Simply insert your cash into the kiosk and follow the on-screen instructions. A prepaid Mastercard will be issued instantly with your funds loaded and ready to use. The process takes only seconds.

No — there is no fee to convert cash to a prepaid card at the kiosk. If the card is used regularly, there is no recurring fee. Note: after 92 consecutive days of no transaction activity, a $3.95 monthly maintenance fee will be charged by the card provider.

Kiosks accept paper currency (bills) only. Coins are not accepted, and no change will be issued.

Guests can load anywhere from $1 to $500 per prepaid card. If you need to convert additional cash during your visit, simply get a new card at any kiosk — the process is quick, easy, and free.

Yes — please keep your receipt. It shows the amount deposited and will be helpful if any issues arise with your transaction or card.

Using Your Prepaid Card

Where can I use my prepaid card?

Your prepaid card can be used at all payment locations throughout the park — admissions, food, retail, and more. Outside the park, it can be used anywhere in the U.S. that accepts Mastercard.

You can check your balance at any Cash to Card kiosk in the park, or by calling the customer service number printed on the back of your card.

Prepaid cards are not reloadable. If you need to convert additional cash, simply visit any kiosk to receive a new prepaid card instantly — it’s free and takes just seconds.

If your card balance is insufficient for a purchase, no funds will be deducted. You can provide another form of payment to complete the transaction or visit a kiosk to obtain a new prepaid card with additional funds.

Some locations may allow split payments using multiple forms of payment. Please check with the cashier at the time of purchase.

No — balances cannot be transferred between prepaid cards. For assistance, please call the customer service number on the back of your card.

Please refer to the information on the back of your card and contact the card provider’s customer service number directly for refund inquiries. Park staff are not able to process refunds for prepaid card balances.

Support & Troubleshooting

Is my personal information safe at the kiosk?

Your prepaid card can be used at all payment locations throughout the park — admissions, food, retail, and more. Outside the park, it can be used anywhere in the U.S. that accepts Mastercard.

The only information the kiosk will ask for is your mobile phone number. This is used solely to link you to your prepaid card so the card provider can assist you if your card is ever lost, stolen, or if you need help with your balance. No other personal information is collected.

Please keep your receipt — it will show the exact amount deposited.

Then, find the nearest team member or visit Guest Relations near the front entrance. A supervisor will work with the card provider to resolve the issue as quickly as possible so you can get back to enjoying the park.

Keep your receipt and visit Guest Relations near the front entrance for assistance. You may also contact the customer service number listed on the back of your prepaid card.

Because prepaid cards are managed by an independent third-party financial provider, park staff cannot track, freeze, or replace your card or access your funds directly.

However, because you entered your mobile phone number at the kiosk, your funds are linked to your number in the provider’s system. Contact the card provider’s customer service team immediately by calling the number on the back of your card (or the number displayed at the kiosk). Have the following ready:

  • Your card account number (if available)
  • Your name, address, phone number, and date of birth
  • A government-issued ID number
